Solving Complex Problems Through Programming
Wednesday 28 August 2024 - Block 7
← previous note | most current note | next note →Daily Note
In our last class, we covered some fundamental concepts. These are important concepts, so we assigned homework to reinforce the ideas. We will:
- Review the homework and ask if there any questions / clarifications:
- The next stop after programming languages is a bit of a deeper dive into VSCode. Learning your tools can save you SO MUCH TIME.
- Learning tools (like VSCODE) is an ongoing process, where you learn about tools as you use them.
- We will then start learning specifics of computer languages. Options include Python, Javascript or PHP. I suggest Python, but if you already skilled in a computer language, I suggest you deepen your learning in a language you already know.
Our Big idea
The big idea for today is Course orientation.
The essential questions for this topic are:
What do I need to know, understand and do to be prepared for this class?
It takes time to explore and really understand a big idea. If you want to

We are learning this because as a designers must understand scientific and technical innovation. Designers use systems, models, methods, and processes to solve problems.
